Weisberg, Joseph photographs, 1913-1978.

Materials in the Joseph Weisberg photograph collection date from 1913 to 1978. It consists of one manuscript box, containing 32 folders. Photographs in the first series feature aircraft up until the late 1930's. This series includes aerial circus barnstormers, the Fort Worth Municipal Airplane Dock, and numerous others. The second series contains photographs of World War II bombers, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the F-18 Hornet. Included in the third series are modern aircraft liners from carriers such as Southwest Airlines and Braniff International. The Concorde aircraft and the Gossamer Albatross are also included.

Joseph Weisberg was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on November 14, 1913. He left Philadelphia after finishing West Philadelphia High School for Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. In 1941 he joined the military and was assigned to a public relations position with the US Army Air Corp at Kelly Field (San Antonio), Texas. He was reassigned to Tarrant Air Base in Fort Worth in 1942, and again in 1943 as a crew member to the B-24 Bomber Training Base in Liberal, Kansas. Returning to Fort ...
